The OECD held a Ministerial Meeting on the Future of the Internet Economy in Seoul Korea (17-18 June 2008), in conjunction with three non-governmental stakeholder Forums (16 June 2008). The Seoul Ministerial, the first such OECD event in Asia, attracted 2300 participants. This included the President of Korea and the Korean Prime Minister together with some 22 Ministers, 8 Deputy or Vice-Ministers and 25 Ambassadors from 43 countries, along with leaders from the private sector, the Internet technical community, organised labour and civil society. The Ministerial meeting and forums outcomes are available at: www.oecd.org/futureinternet. At the 3rd IGF an Open Forum will be held, to report and discuss the main outcomes from the OECD Ministerial Meeting and Forums, where they relate to the themes of the Internet Governance Forum. In respect to governance this would also include a discussion of the multi-stakeholder participation in public policy processes as developed in the context of the OECD Ministerial.
